News
CTV's news service aims to inform the people of Cape Town about the people and events that make the news. At present the news service operates as a network of accredicted community video journalists who make daily news inserts about the news in their local community or interest sector.
The news service utilizes the power of the Internet to link community contributors with the newsroom. Video journalists upload their stories to the website MyVideo, from whence they are downloaded to the news studio for broadcast. Anyone can become a video journalist as long as they have either a) passed a relevant course in video or journalism; or b) have workplace experience as a journalist or news video maker. If you don't yet qualify, CTV has accredited training partners where you can get the skills you need.
If you would like to become an accredited community video journalist, please fill in the form below. Candidates will be interviewed prior to accreditation and must enter into a contractual arrangement for content provision with the channel.
